Highlights of Day 28 March 14, Match 39: India on a dream winning 6-0 run in ICC World Cup 2015

Defending champions India cannot have played better than what they have been in their group stage matches. One after the other, Team India produced great performances to outlast their opponents. In their last match against Zimbabwe, Indian side looked in danger of facing their first defeat of the 11th edition of Cricket World Cup but the supreme batting display by captain MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. After losing four wickets at 92 in their effort to chase a stiff target of 287, it was just Dhoni-Raina show. There were couple of centurions, Raina’s 110 in winning cause was special but so was Zimbabwean wicket-keeper batsman Brendan Taylor who hits 138 playing his last match for the side.

Highlights of Day 28 March 14, Match 40: Australia register ‘convincing’ win over Scotland

Australia’s victory over Scotland was a pre-mediated thought but the management would pay attention to few lapses in the match. The main culprit was Michael Clarke who made some debatable moves but considering the match was more of giving practice and experimentation, one can brush it off. Australia chased down a small target of 130 to register a convincing seven wickets victory in the end.  Pacers Mitchell Starc (4/14) and Pat Cummins (3/42) led the charge for Australia by bowling out minnows Scotland for a paltry 130 in 25.4 overs in a cricket World Cup Pool A game at the Bellerive Oval here on Saturday.

Day 29 Schedule March 15, Match 41: Can West Indies beat United Arab Emirates by a big margin in a must-win game?

West Indies once again lived to their image, unpredictable nature with no consistency. They lost to Ireland, plummeted Zimbabwe, thrashed Pakistan, faltered against South Africa and simply could not find any rhythm against India. In this last match, West Indies need to beat United Arab Emirates comprehensively at the McLean Park in Napier to have an outside chance of making to the knockout stage. The Match 41 of 2015 Cricket World Cup, Group B fixture WI vs UAE will start at 3.30 am IST with live telecast done by Star Sports.

Day 29 Schedule March 15, Match 42: Will it be revenge match for Pakistan or Ireland will again live up to ‘giant killers’ tag?

After getting thrashed by India in their last match, Ireland skipper William Porterfield talked about a lot of positives that they have taken from the game, and is hopeful of beating Pakistan in a “winner takes it all” game in Adelaide on March 15.And why not, they have done it in past. The memories of 2007 Cricket World Cup, when Ireland ousted Pakistan is still fresh in ones memories. The stage is all set for another crackling encounter in Adelaide. Off-late Pakistan has found groove back in the tournament but still would be cautious of their known nemesis. The last match of group stage, Match 42 of 2015 Cricket World Cup, Group B fixture PAK vs IRE will start at 9.00 am IST with live telecast done by Star Sports. Inputs from IANS.
