Indian are the first — and only — team to have surpassed the 400-run hurdle in World Cup, having obtained 413 for five against Bermuda at Port of Spain in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. They have handled to combination 300 on six events in World Cup, successful five and attaching one coordinate — against Britain in the ICC World Cup 2011.
Score | Overs | RPO | Result | Opposition | Ground |
413/5 | 50 | 8.26 | won | Bermuda | Port of Spain |
373/6 | 50 | 7.46 | won | Sri Lanka | Taunton |
370/4 | 50 | 7.4 | won | Bangladesh | Dhaka |
338 | 49.5 | 6.78 | tied | England | Bangalore |
329/2 | 50 | 6.58 | won | Kenya | Bristol |
311/2 | 50 | 6.22 | won | Namibia | Pietermaritzburg |
India were able to publish their large 413 for five after fantastic innings from Virender Sehwag, who hit a fantastic 114 off 87 paintballs, Sourav Ganguly (89 off 114), Yuvraj Singh (83 off 46), and Sachin Tendulkar (57 not out off 29). The coordinate is also kept in mind for Dwayne Leverock’s now-iconic one-handed snorkeling capture and following festivities.
Apart from that coordinate, Indian had a dreadful period of time in the 2007 World Cup, with a surprising reduction to Bangladesh leading to an uncomfortable first-round quit. They vindicated themselves by going on to win the ICC World Cup 2011, defeating Sri Lanka — the other group they missing to in 2007 — in a closely-contested last at Wankhede, Mumbai. They had handled to achieve the finals in the ICC World Cup 2003, but were trounced in the finals against Sydney on that event. MS Dhoni will cause India’s World Cup defense Down Under in the future ICC World Cup 2015 planned to start on Feb 14.
